About our Neighbourhood Centres
Bellingen, Urunga and Dorrigo
The Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire offer services free of discrimination or bias to all persons and groups in the community with an aim to being inclusive, respectful, community driven and professional. We celebrate diversity and work towards a fair and just society for all.
Our services and programs prioritise individuals and families who are vulnerable, marginalised and/or experiencing disadvantage. We focus on working cooperatively with others to strengthen connections, wellbeing and resilience in our community.
What We Do
NCoBS’ Neighbourhood Centres works to assist individuals, families, and communities across the Bellingen Shire. Fundamentally, the work we do:
- Aligns with social justice principles of equity, access, participation and human rights.
- Assists people to access help and support to enable them to have their needs met.
- Prioritises and advocates for the marginalised and disadvantaged members of our community.
- Performs a community development role through partnerships with other agencies and groups to provide opportunities for people to connect and participate in their community.
Our Neighbourhood Centres in Bellingen and Urunga receive core funding from the NSW Government through the Department of Communities and Justice under the Targeted Earlier Intervention Program.
The Centres also receive other one-off grants from various sources and conducts fundraising activities to supplement the core funding.
